Rakkarpakk is a vocal trio that passes on the norwegian folk tradition through song and storytelling. They try to create an atmosphere where the music can be the point of connection and joy between listeners and performers.

Between each other they have a wide variety of experience, from improvised music, early music and from working with different kinds of ensembles.

The trio consists of:

Martin Steinum Brun, Victoria Oftestad og Vera Sonne.

KVADBAD på oslo badstuforening! Film og klipp: Johannes Laukvik Nannestad og Endre Gjendem

In the music they use an improvisational attitude towards arranging, which takes in consideration the solistic nature of the tradition. This also pushes the limit of the established ways of using this old music in an ensemble setting.

Storytelling is the backbone to the folksinging tradition of Norway. Through centuries stories and songs has been told where people meet and enjoy eachother, that is why Rakkarpakk tries find these places.

Our name, Rakkarpakk, represents our playful and unafraid path through music.
